What ever possessed you to write a ghosts story?

First of all, I am not possessed, nor was I while writing this book. Perhaps, you are confusing me with one of the characters in this book. I love ghosts stories. I wanted to explore what it might be like to live in a wholesome family where seeing ghosts was the norm. What happens when that kind of family comes into contact with the some of the darker issues of a priest's life? ...or the darker issues of the relationship between parent and child? What kind of terrible things would happen with such a mixture of lightness and darkness? What if the youngest and most innocent of that wholesome family had an ability to see the 'lightness' or the 'darkness' in others without judgement? And what if he was pitted against the darkness? Would those who use "religious" values to condemn others support a child with such a gift? Would 'enlightened' adults take such a gifted child seriously? Without their support, would that child survive the darkness? I wanted to answer these questions.
